ABOUT JOSIAH
Intuitive, all original music, composed and played live on a Korg Triton keyboard, without any editing or layering whatsoever.
Josiah has developed his own unique style, as he plays the keys despite the lack of a complete left hand...
Josiah was born in Salt Lake City, Utah in January of 1979, and the first thing out of the doctor's mouth upon seeing Josiah's deformed left hand was: "Well, he's healthy, but he'll never be a concert pianist!" But what the doctor didn't know is he was looking at a baby with an unyielding determination to share the music in his soul with the entire world.
When asked if he utilizes both hands or just plays with his right hand, he explains that 'it involves more than one hand, but less than two'...'a hand-and-a-half' is a more accurate term in his opinion.
Josiah started teaching himself how to play at the age of seven on an old Thomas organ, over the course of several years developed the skill to the point where he found he could successfully communicate his emotions through music, and much more effectively than simply speaking words.
Through the years, his music has been featured on countless websites, internet radio stations, college radio stations, media projects and independent movies. In 2005 he won the honored Keyboard Player of the Year award from the International Online Music Awards organization, (IOMA) as well as being nominated for several other categories. One of his hit songs is featured on an indie compilation album named SUNDOWN that is in circulation throughout the US and the UK. His work has been used in several meditation projects for his ethereal work on the keyboard, the latest being an incredible technique to become stress-free, Intentional Resting.
Josiah currently resides in Salt Lake City, Utah, with his young family and continues to build on his vision of creating powerful experiences through the medium of music.
